Mike Pohopek, Wells Maine 149.8 Lb Male - Shot with a bow @ 18 yards with a 2 bladed Rage Broadhead. Bear went 80 yards and died in a small stream. New Brunswick, Canada - Spring Bear Hunt Great Job Mike!!! Jeff Durbin from Otis, Colorado with his New Brunswick Spring Bruin. Jeff's Bear weighed 188 lbs and was shot with a .300 Winchester Magnum. This bear came in early around 7:15 p.m. and Jeff made a good shot with a quick recovery. Congratulations Jeff!! Autumn Thompson shot her first bear Sept 6th., at 6:40pm. Perfect, single heart shot with a complete pass through. Bear only ran 12yards. Shot it with her .243 single shot Rossi. It weighed 158 lbs dressed out! Super job Ben and Autumn..Congratulations!!!!! Jeff Brownell with his first black bear. 160lb male with a great coat. The bear was shot in the lakes Region of NH. (Dave Thayer writes) I watched this bear for 45 minutes the night before thinking it might be a bit small for what I'm after so the next day I gave my buddy Jeff a call. Jeff hadn't harvested a bear yet an was very interested in hunting these critters. We headed into the stand around 4:30 pm on Sunday the 5th. At about 6:40 pm this bear showed up. I got some great footage of the bear coming into the bait. Once there Jeff drilled him with a 3-blade rage broadhead. The bear ran about 60 yards, crashed into some brush an then the death moan. Look for this filmed hunt on a new DVD coming out next year. The video will cover only NH and Maine hunting at its finest. You wont believe this film till you see it. The best part of the whole hunt was the family picture, absolutely priceless.
Lisa Lapointe Vassalboro, Maine Shot in Upper Enchanted TWP Maine - This was my first bear shot 9-4-10. I saw her come into an opening on her way to the bait site so I got ready. I couldn't get a good shot off while sitting in the stand so I had to stand up. Luckily, she never saw me. I am proud to say that she dropped where she stood with my first shot. I did shoot a second time because her back end moved. The second shot did end up piercing a hole in her ear (and a section of her head). She dressed out at 190 pounds. I was fortunate to have my husband and wonderful friends around me after the kill to celebrate with. Needless to say, it will be forever etched in my memory! Congratulations Lisa! Great Shooting and Super Story! MH's Staff Yani an Tucker started this bear at 6:25 am. Tucker had the bear treed around 9 am but the bear came out before we could get in on him. Once Yani caught back up with Tucker the bear was treed for good around 9:30 am. Joe Pouliot of Dover, N.H. scored on his first bear with the help of these two hounds. Joe had a beautiful TC 44 mag he was planning on shooting the bear with but when we where hustling through the swamp Joe lost the gun in a giant mud hole. Joe had no problems at that point dispatching the bear with my 40 cal pistol. After we dragged the bear out we where lucky enough to find the gun, lets say she needs a good cleaning. The bear was a male weighing in at 145 lbs with a great coat. Gotta love them hounds!!! I David Thayer - Infamous Houndsmen! Terrel Hartford with one of his dogs Black Jack and Dave Thayer with Yani and Tucker. Bullet is not in the pic, but he's one bad bear dog! Joe Bean was the lucky hunter that morning. The bear weighed 220 lb an had a great coat. Joe's photo is posted on MH's bear photos..see picture................................. Terrel Hartford & David Thayer ran their dogs for this bear for 2.5 hours until he treed on the edge of an old horse pasture up in the Ossipee mts. We started the chase with Bullet an Yani. I was able to get in front of the dogs and when the bear came across the rd, I put tucker down. Bullet was about 100 yards behind the bear and yani had fallen back due to Bullets speed! Once Tucker was put down they really started getting on the bear. He crossed on more rd and we put 3 more dogs down. The bear started to fight the dogs in a swamp but that didn’t last long as he soon went up a large oak tree. Joe Bean was the lucky hunter (Pictured above) that morning. The bear weighed 220 lb. Tyler Fenderson - Age 10 with his First Maine black bear! Wait to you see the video on this hunt ! Harvested with a 20ga . Northwoods Adventures TV
Sadie Theriault - Jackman, Maine with her trapped 320 lb bear Norman Theriault - Jackman, Maine with his trapped 259 lb bear, his Daughter Sadie by his side.
